Turns out Is it supposed to rain? can be a loaded question.
City of Tonawanda police arrested a 67-year-old man Tuesday night for allegedly challenging another man, 75, to a fight after the two got into an argument over the weather.
Herbert A. Hoffmann, 67, of 284 Main St. Apt. 203, was charged with harassment following the incident at the Kibler Senior Apartments. Hoffmann, the other man and a 79-year-old woman all were sitting outside about 7 p.m. Tuesday when Hoffmann and the victim began bickering.
The argument was basically over whether it was going to rain or not, police report states.
The two men admitted to police that they do not like each other. With the argument heating up, Hoffmann allegedly challenged the victim to a fight. The victim told Hoffmann to take off his glasses because he didnt want to hit a man with glasses, police reported.
Hoffmann told police that he wanted to take the offensive before the victim could get out of his Lark. Hoffmann grabbed the man by his shirt and ripped it, police reported.
Hoffmann was issued an appearance ticket for the incident.
This story creates a hilarious mental picture! But by far my favorite part is:
Hoffmann told police that he wanted to take the offensive before the victim could get out of his Lark. Hoffmann grabbed the man by his shirt and ripped it, police reported.
Gawd! Now that's some Pulitzer Prize winning journalism!

I would have liked to see two old guys beat the $hit out of each other about whether or not it's going to rain. Sounds like something two girls would fight about.
Senior rage....I'm sure the SOUNDOFF will be filled with comments on this...the Kibler apartments are built in the old Tonawanda Junior High...which back in the forties used to be Tonawanda High School..which was originally called Kibler High School. Maybe these two gentlemen were reliving a schoolyard scrap they had back years ago on the same ground....at least there were no weapons involved and the one old gentleman didn't have his posse jump the other dude and gang stomp him...maybe some of our kids can learn something from this...or not...lol
