13 Days since the last post on this forum so I figure I'd throw something up there tonight (instead of throwing something up tommorrow morning)
We are heading for the Gateway Park Ball Drop and Pub Crawl...even though the weather is brutal we gotta check it out, so the woolies are on as we brave the 12 degree temps to drink beer outside (OH SORRY! IN A HEATED TENT...oxymoron like an intelligent conservative) and visit the 10 establishments that are in walking distance of the park...then we win a mug if all the punchcards are punched...or something like that. HEY>>>>
I wonder if Larry Soos will have the Gestapo out looking for underage drinkers..I can just picture it now, the NT Police stop the Ball from descending 10 seconds before midnight, and all the tents heaters are extinguished, beer sales stopped, yellow tape swirling around the entire park, champagne corks crazy glued shut and we are all left holding our prepaid beer coupons while the City Counsel scurries off to their chambers with the money boxes, snickering as they play musical chairs in their $60,000 leather seats while time marches on....
There are still ALOT of pissed off people who were screwed by this angry little dicktators shenanagans this past summer...many were screwed out of $$$ that they paid for coupons and were refused refunds...and the Darkstar Orchestra still has not been paid. It isn't the amount of money my college student was screwed out of ($21, 7 coupons @$3 each) its the amount of money that everyone was screwed out of who don't know how to bitch.
NOW try to convince me that jerk Soos didn't have anything to do with the Krystalnacht like raid.
Have I perked anyones responses? Happy New Year!

It was extremely cold, wind chill under zero but there still was quite a turnout...there was even a wedding. Many participated in the Club Crawl, my honey and I found a warm little nook at Dwyers Irish Pub and polished off some Guinesses, mixed in with Bass and Harp, traditional Black and Tans and 50/50's...The heated beer tent used the Ticket system so we passed on that, I still don't understand the system of tickets...is the trust factor so low that cash can only be collected by people in a little tent? I've never gotten that one...
There was an early balldrop for the little ones, that was cool, we lie to them about Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny so why not continue the stream of falsehoods by wishing them a Happy New Year at 7 pm? (Just kiddin, good idea to whisk them home to the babysitter so mom and dad can slosh through the pub crawl) Didn't see the bands...too freezing to stand out there in front of the stage, I think there was heaters up there for those brave hearty musicians...I'll wait for the summer to hear the live tunes.
Nice! Next year hopefully the weather will cooperate a little more , good job NT and Mayor Larry. Everyone down there had fun, got along and celebrated in fine form.
Too bad the counsel and the Mayor can't do the same in city hall...biggrin.gif

DoubleD,

I can't imagine Soos would do it. It's just not politically expedient. In fact, I was thinking it was called for by someone higher up. I'm thinking of someone who complains about the bridge commission alot. But I tend to think he's responsible for everything that goes wrong.

:)
