last tank of fuel ; 52.114 mpg , local driving short tips back and forth to work and errands 5% of the price of a new prius such a deal.
you have to search to find one that is not rusted badly , but they are out there . easy to work on , parts are cheap and readily available , the most i have ever paid to fill it up is $21.00 . 10 gallon fuel tank , 500 mile range
and the little car is fun to drive on twisty turning roads ... very similar to an old MG midget or fiat 124 spider . not much on long hills ... a great car , the only option is a cup holder .

Pressure Transducers are the answer , what is the question ?
we did not drive this car to washington dc for the festivities at the strong request from my wife ... we drove the VW passat 29.77 mpg( measured )on the way there at about 60mph with ac on about 50% of the time did not need fuel yet after we returned but the onboard mpg screen shows 30.2 mpg (calculated) as i pulled into the driveway
sunoco / shell 91 octane mixed about 75/25 on the way down and that mix about 50 50 with texaco 91 octane on the way back , still have about a 1/2 tank .
texaco and shell are both top tier fuel , sunoco is not . http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers.html
